IGNACIO ALPERIN: WHO AM I
Born in Argentina, I grew up in Australia and lived temporarily in several countries around the world. I have major degrees from Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) – a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence-, and more recently, a Postgraduate Degree in Political and Corporate Communication at UCA (Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina), as well as other specialized courses in Argentina and abroad. I have an extensive and diverse international experience gained in a clearly non-linear professional career.
I am currently an MBA Professor. Subject purview areas include "Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Business", "Business and Arts", and the Creativity and Innovation workshops at the UCA Business School, Faculty of Economics. I am also undergrad Professor (“Creativity and Innovation for an Entrepreneurial Society”), as part of the international programs at UCA International.
I am also Treasurer of the Friend´s Associación of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires (Asociación de Amigos del MACBA) as well as leader and coordinator of the Cultural Policies Group of Apertura Republicana/Pro, a think tank made up of more than 80 professionals of the different industries that make up the cultural environment, and which works on new public/private proposals to support and develop cultural policies as well as promoting creative and innovative industries.
I also act as a consultant on those subjects, as well as technological and human impact, sustainability, change, and creative leadership, in companies, academia, NGOs, and government agencies (I also speak in international and local events on these subjects).
Before all this, I was one of the 10 coordinators of the iTrials (Pfizer/BioNTech) Covid-19 vaccine trials in Argentina, which was an intricate part of the worldwide effort to obtain a Covid-19 vaccine in 2020. Prior to that, I did a year-long consultancy at the Sustainable Development Agency of the Province of Buenos Aires (OPDS) in Argentina, on the subject of leadership, innovation, intrapreneurship and conflict resolution.
In the past, I was Executive & Academic Director at the Association of the Bar of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina Managing Partner of a now extinct US law firm, Commercial Director of Argentina´s Davis Cup, as well as having had other executive professional roles.
I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, solid project management skills, and a strong track record.
I believe that we have been given many talents, and exploring them is both a duty and a never-ending learning process that should always be wider rather than narrower (in fact, I was offered the position of MBA Professor some years ago, as much for my extensive management experience, as for the fact that, concurrently, I also manage to pursue a thriving artistic career since my early 20´s).
This wide-ranging knowledge base provided me with essential skills and tools, and that allowed me to become a better listener, an empathic intermediary, a flexible but focused manager, and a great believer in that ethical behavior and respect are basic ingredients for consensus building and growth.
